General

  • SophistiCakes is open 5 days a week.

    Monday and Tuesday: Closed.
    Wednesday–Saturday: 9 AM-4 PM
    Sunday 9 AM-1:00 PM

    We prefer that all pick-up orders begin at 11 AM.

    Note that we occasionally have shorter hours after a holiday; this gives us extra time to clean, make repairs, reorganize, and work on new recipes.

  • Unfortunately, due to COVID we are not having tastings at this time.

    You are more than welcome to purchase our cupcakes to try our cake flavors. Please email us or stop by with photos of wedding cake ideas you like and we will be happy to get you pricing!

  • Yes, we offer gluten free cakes and cupcakes in chocolate, vanilla, and chocolate chip.

    We also offer egg-free and dairy-free flavors. Please call in advance to pre-order, they go quickly!!

  • Yes, and we love to be a part of such a special occasion. Call for details!

Orders

  • Of course we try our very best to accept and complete as many orders as we feel we can handle each day.

    Because we lost several employees during the COVID outbreak we are still very short-staffed. Therefore we ask that you call as far in advance as possible to place your order or if you just have questions.

  • Yes, we ask for a deposit or a credit card number to hold your order. We do not charge the card, you tell us when picking up your order how you would like to pay!

    All orders over $70.00, as well as any order that requires specialty fondant work, will require a 50% deposit at the time your order is placed.

  • We take a credit card number as a measure of good faith. This is a guarantee that each customer will pick up the cake or dessert that we have made especially for them.

    Your credit card WILL NOT BE CHARGED unless you ask us to do so. If your order is under $100.00 then the credit card number is saved until the full balance can be paid by cash or credit card when picking up your order. After picking up your order your credit card information is professionally destroyed.

  • Yes, absolutely! Let whomever is picking up your order know the name that the order is placed under, the spelling of names, and the requested decoration.

  • If your cake has a whipped cream icing or a cream cheese buttercream icing then yes, we recommend placing your cake in the refrigerator as soon as possible.

    However, we feel our buttercream iced cakes are best stored in their box at room temperature. That said, try to keep them away from heat sources, opened windows, fans, direct sunlight or direct exposure to the sun.

  • We accept VISA , MasterCard , American Express and Discover.

  • No, we are sorry but we do not accept checks.

  • When it is possible, yes we do. Please call our shop number (610-626-7900) and we can give you the cost for delivery.

    Fees are based on driver availability, distance, day of the week and also time of delivery.

  • We have a selection of candles both in numbers or traditional striped 24 pack.

Pricing

  • 72 hours and no changes made to any order within 72 hours as well.

  • Our cakes are priced according to servings and decoration. It seems no two cakes are the same so we recommend calling our bakery to get a price quote from any of our very helpful bakery consultants.

  • Our 'signature' cupcake flavors are $3.50 TO $3.75 for specialty/filled cupcakes. Our Gluten Free are $3.99. Additional decorating can be done upon request at an additional charge. Please check out our "Classic Originals" section on this site, send us an email or give us a call.

    Our 'seasonal' cupcake flavors are $3.75 and UP. Depending on the season, we bake with only fresh fruit locally grown to ensure our cupcakes are the best you will ever have.

    Flavors rotate based on the bakers schedule. Please call ahead to insure your favorite flavor is available.

  • Working with buttercream, whipped cream and or fondant does take time and talent. Our decorators at SophistiCakes can ice, hand pipe, paint and sculpt a cake that will be perfect for your special occasion.

Cakes

  • Ha Ha, a trick question. Actually, we do make pies. Fresh fruit pies through the FALL AND WINTER holidays. Give us a call to see what we are baking today!!

  • Yes we do, with a rich cream cheese icing.

  • No, but we will start to, if enough customers ask us to!

  • No we do not.

  • We suggest serving your cake within 12 hours of pick-up. If you have any leftovers we recommend covering with plastic wrap and, in warmer months refrigerate, as our cakes do not contain preservatives.

    If you do need to refrigerate your cake, we suggest removing it from the refrigerator about 2 to 3 hours before serving. Our cake is best served at room temperature.

    During extremely hot weather we recommend keeping your cake in the refrigerator until serving time.

  • Yes! Our cakes freeze very well. We suggest keeping your cake in the bakery box and placing it in the freezer. Once cake is frozen take out of box, wrap in plastic wrap and place back in freezer. The day before serving, take cake out of freezer and place in the refrigerator for 24 hours. Then remove from the fridge and serve at room temp.

  • Yes! many of our customers travel with our cakes. SophistiCakes cakes are great to take to any destination! Please notify us at the time of your order so we can allow for extra refrigeration. We suggest NOT putting the cake in the trunk but close to at least one A/C vent. In our experience, we have found that ice packs and coolers work well also. This ensures a more stable cake, for that long car ride! You can still have your cake and eat it too....!

  • Our decorators at SophistiCakes have made many amazing cakes! We love making traditional cakes, but we also love a good challenge. The sky's the limit with what we can create for your event. Stop by, send us an email or give us a call with your thoughts and ideas.

  • Our buttercream icing is true buttercream, made with sugar, vanilla, milk and butter.

    We make vanilla, chocolate, and cream cheese buttercream. Our chocolate buttercream is made with Hershey's Cocoa, and our cream cheese buttercream is made with farm-fresh cream cheese.

    We also make an ITALIAN BUTTERCREAM, a lighter fluffy less sweet option.

    Our vanilla buttercream is our most popular, but if you feel like a change...try the chocolate cream cheese or Italian buttercream next time!

  • Have you ever been stuck for a last-minute cake?? No need to panic! SophistiCakes has 8" and 10" single layer cakes available in our shop.

    The 8" gives you up to 6 generous servings and the 10" will give you 10 to 12 generous servings.

    They are pound or chocolate chip. We bake, ice and decorate them, replenishing as needed throughout the day.

    Our case cakes are pre-decorated with room for us to personalize on-the-spot. Just stop in and we'll have you on your way with a fresh delicious cake.
